100,000 Reasons to Smile!

This past weekend marked a wonderfully warm milestone for Blanket BC Society and to all who have participated over the 7 plus years we've been around. After all the “Drive on the Line” campaigns, “Hike for the Homeless” events and a few fundraisers in between, and with the help from our amazing
group of volunteers throughout the years, Blanket BC is proud to say we have collected over 100,000 blankets to date! All blankets are divided up and sent to shelter programs and families in need throughout the Lower Mainland and other communities throughout British Columbia. We do this year round!

Blanket BC would like to send special thanks to a few of our sponsors and friends as non of this would be possible without them.

To Kevin, Peter, Mario and all others at K-Bro Linen Services, we thank you for the very generous amounts of blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels and throws you have donated to Blanket BC over the years. All of your items have been blessings to those who recieve them! It was you latest donation of over 5000 blankets that helped us surpass the 100,000 marker!

To Sandra and the wonderful staff at Maple Leaf Storage Locker in Port Coquitlam who have been with Blanket BC from day one! Your generous offer of locker space is invaluable. I'm proud to call you my friends!

To our newest partnership, Storage For Your Life in Mission, you have allowed us to utilize a large locker space for our donations for the Fraser Valley and we thank you very much!

Last but certainly not least, to our wonderful volunteers! Much of the work is done by our volunteers who give up much of their time in cold wet weather, picking up and delivering donations to shelter programs. It's not a glorious job, but I'm glad I have wonderfully warm people helping Blanket BC and making what we do, a success! THANK-YOU!

In closing, Blanket BC has grown leaps and bounds over the years, being able to help more and more people each year. As we grow, our team will change as some team members and directors will move on to other aspirations, however, encouragingly, others will join. In all, our mission statement and vision will stay the same and we will continue to bring "warmth, from the heart" to all those who are in the greatest of need in our society.

Warmest Regards,
Gregory Ould
