PROJECT IDAI - SPREADING WARMTH & LOVE IN AFRICA

Project Idai
We are proud to announce that in light of the devastation that was caused by Cyclone Idai, we shipped a full container to Mozambique and Zimbabwe. We were truly honored to have been able to collaborate with City of Coquitlam Councilor Trish Mandewo along with her organization Women's Collaborative Hub as well as Ruben's Shoes; who ultimately came up with the $15,000 to ship all donations.
Our goal was to send 10,000 pairs of shoes along with 10,000+ blankets, medical equipment, and optical/reading glasses. It's an amazing feeling to know we have made an incredibly positive impact on the lives of so many on the other side of the planet.

ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENTS
2015 - CELEBRATING A DECADE OF WARMTH
Blanket BC's Decade of Warmth Celebration on October 23, 2015 was a huge success! The sellout crowd was entertained as much as they were inspired. We had world class musicians Thomas Beckman, Stephen Scaccia, Todd Richard and The John Welsh Band along with outstanding stand-up comedians Kelly Dyer, Ed Hill and Peter Kelamis. Guest speaker, Executive Director of Lookout Aid Society, Shayne Williams gave a very emotional and telling story of the people who are positively affected by the blankets we deliver to their shelters and shared a stories that made us all want to give a little more back to those in need.
"Warmth Awards were handed out to many of the companies and individuals that have helped Blanket BC grow and become successful over the years, including a special award to our youngest recipients, Benjamin and Emma Ould. They have been with us from day one and have given up much of their weekends with friends to help others stay warm. They have put in more volunteer hours than anyone and the Board of Directors felt very passionately that they should stand and be recognized for their contributions. It was a very emotional moment.
Martha Ould aka "Mom", received the Blanket BC Spirit Award for her motherly contributions to the organization and keeping us all on track and held us to task, always with a loving and warm smile on her face.
