We would like to thank all who came out to our AGM this year, and there were many of you!  Returning to The Heritage Grill, located at 447 Columbia Street, New Westminster, BC, we were all taken care of by Chris the waiter and the amazing kitchen staff. Awesome place to be!

Our AGM’s aren’t like the rest. No boring meeting here. Every year we present a special Warmth Award to someone who had gone above and beyond for their community and we are grateful to have been able to present this years award to a special young man by the name of Caden Hermann. Caden was a student from Lord Byng Elementary who headed up his own blanket drive at his school, in which his whole community supported him in a huge warming way!
We also had a special guest speaker/performer at this year’s AGM and it sure was very exciting. We were joined by non other than British Columbia Country Music Association Recording Artist Duane Watson. A man whose traversed troubled roads and who found a new lease on life through his music, even later in life. Whether telling stories of the legendary train robber Billy Miner or of tales of his law-breaking days on the road, Duane  captivated our audience with his stories and charisma and showed us just how anyone can change to the good, given the chance and drive.

We will have some pictures and videos posted in the coming weeks, so stayed tuned. Until then, please follow us on our Facebook page for more up to the minute updates.

We look forward to this year, it's going to be BIG...and we ask only of a bit of your time to help #SPREADTHEWARMTH!

ROCKIN' RIVER 2014 OFFICAL MUSIC VIDEO

The following video was shot by Severn Samulski, a very talented photo/videographer. Sev created a music video from the time we spent at Rockin' River Music Fest. The song is called "Last Chance" by Kenny Hess, and was written in memory of his brother Gregory Luke Hess.
On Saturday, September 22, 2012, Blanket BC Society held their inaugural 5k Hike for the Homeless event at Minnekhada Park in Coquitlam. We were honoured to have wonderful guest speakers such as Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart, Port Coquitlam Councillor Glenn Pollock, former SHARE Society Chair Marylin Craig and Sandee Burpee of the Tri-Cities Homelessness Task Force. We were also honoured to have former World champion and Olympic wrestler Chris Wilson volunteer (first on site) at this very fun event! Blanket BC had a healthy turnout of amazing "Blanketeers" and participants and because of these wonderful people, we managed to raise nearly $800 and create greater awareness about homelessness and the hardships individuals and families are going through in the Tri-City area. Times are tough on families, more so than even a few years ago and Blanket BC Society will continue doing their part to help out! Want to donate? Please click the DONATE page.

On behalf of the Blanket BC family, THANK-YOU!!!
