our impact

BLANKET BC SOCIETY  is an award-winning, non-profit organization that continually collects and distributes blankets and warm clothing to shelter programs, families in need, emergency services, First Nations, and Indigenous communities. We raise awareness on homelessness, poverty, and social-economic issues while promoting volunteerism at an early age. We have been proudly serving our community for 17 years!  We are here to support all people in need! (We help animals too!)

Our why

Blanket BC Society was inspired by Founder, Gregory Ould and his son Benjamin after a homeless person simply asked for a blanket to survive the night.  That one basic request in 2005 catapulted Greg's commitment to collect and distribute blankets and warm clothing to shelter programs and families in need.  His mission is to not only help those in need but to raise awareness of homelessness, poverty, and social-economic needs in an effort to foster "beautiful communities" (BC) while encouraging volunteerism at a young age. Gregs own three children have been volunteering with him since an early age.

how you can help

Blanket BC Society has actively been working to support those in need since 2005. While we've been successful in collecting and distributing over half a million blankets and continue to make a substantial impact as an award-winning outreach society, we rely on the support of local individuals and businesses to keep going even amidst the Covid pandemic. Last winter after 8 months of being shut down and having to cancel our Annual Drive On the Canada Line Campaign, we adapted through social media and created a Drive Online campaign instead. We desperately need to reach our financial goal to cover operational costs and repair our "Warmth Wagon" which works tirelessly to collect, store, distribute blankets who are in desperate need.
We continue to receive an incredible amount of blanket donations from individuals and corporations and we had some amazing Blanketeers help us continue to #spreadthewarmth when the need was greater than ever.  This year as we celebrate 17 years of warmth we would be extremely grateful for your support in the following ways....
